Welsbach Boulevard Gas Light - Antique
Description
Authentic reconditioned (original, not a reproduction) Welsbach Boulevard Gas Light. This beautiful treasure from the gaslite era of the late 19th century will add traditional charm and a piece of history that will be unique to your home. Welsbach gas lights served as street lights in cities such as Baltimore, Philadelphia and are still fixtures in the city of Riverton, New Jersey. Truly a collector's item now. Welsbach invented the incandescent gas mantle which generates a bright white light when heated by a flame.
clear glass dome 12-1/8"W x 7-3/8W, 16"H,
milk glass dome: 5"W x 14"W x 7-1/2H
This gas light came to Texas from Evansville, Indiana where my father acquired it from Arkla Gas. It has been in storage for 20 years. We have all of the parts to make it operational with the exception of the pole for post mounting. Please see pictures and note the clear glass dome has a small hole (from a kid shooting a bb!). Replacement parts are still available on the internet (see American Gas Lamp Works which sells this same style for $1,390)
Additional pictures of it assembled when last in use are available. This is a sentimental family heirloom. Serious inquiries only.
