This role requires practical experience with drainage design software, a strong understanding of civil site design principles, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with engineering and CAD teams.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
Prepare/review drainage design calculations, hydrology studies, and storm water management reports.
Lead hydrologic & hydraulic studies using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM, SRH-2D, etc.
Develop/seal drainage reports, FEMA LOMR/MT-2 submittals, and drainage design plans.
Perform watershed-scale flood risk analysis, inundation mapping, and storm water conveyance/detention design.
Oversee junior engineers/EITs and provide structured technical mentorship.
Support and/or lead grant funding efforts — including FEMA BRIC, CDBG-MIT, GLO, and flood bond initiatives.
