Bilingual Medical Assistant
POSITION : Bilingual Medical Assistant – Interfaith Community Clinic
REPORTS TO: Director of Clinic Operations
COMPENSATION: Based on experience / 35 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates overall medical program and services
PRIMARY DUTIES
• Telephone triage as needed
• Perform pre and post clinic duties
• Room patients; with vital signs, medication and allergy history, brief reason for current visit, update medical history as appropriate
• Administer medications as per provider orders, including oral, IM and subcutaneous injections and nebulized medications
• Perform routine testing; including but not limited to, EKG, urinalysis, pregnancy tests, rapid strep screens and other CLIA waived testing as per provider orders
• Ensure smooth flow of patients
• Notify patients of test results per clinic protocol
• Maintain emergency medical cart, including completion of monthly checklist
• Stock and maintain exam room supplies
• Complete weekly and monthly clinic duties
• Provide instruction for Health Education Classes
• Perform first desk duties on assigned days
• Other duties as assigned

• Physical demands: Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing and lifting.

Additional Requirements
Evening hours: Once a week on Thursday, typically ending by 7:00–7:30 PM.
Qualifications
• High school graduate
• Completion of accredited medical assisting course
• Current BCLS
• 1-2 years medical office experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
• Must be knowledgeable of HIPPA and OSHA requirements
• Proficient in the use of computerized charting, eClinicalWorks preferred.
• Responsible, dependable and flexible.
• Ability to multi-task.
