Watch Talk: Social Networking

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Cheryl Shaffer, victim specialist with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will review social networking sites, such as Facebook and My Space, at the next Watch Talk Wednesday scheduled for August 25, 2010, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Township Service Center, 2201 Lake Woodlands Drive.

Ms. Shaffer will discuss ways in which parents can protect their children from the potential dangers of using these sites, including cyberbullying, sexting and online stalking. She will also discuss how to maintain internet account privacy.

A program of The Woodlands Township, Watch Talk Wednesday is a monthly series that provides residents with information on crime prevention practices and resources. The Watch Talk Wednesday series is part of The Woodlands Watch, a neighborhood watch program for Woodlands residents.
