Free makeup workshops offered by ladies spa

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- If you don’t think the eyes are an effective means of communication, watch some classic movies starring Bette Davis or Bela Lugosi. One glare from either one was guaranteed to strike fear in the hearts of men.

To assist women with how to enhance one of their most intriguing attributes, the eyes, the Oasis Club and Spa for Women hosted a workshop for the public, presented by Susan Boehm, a licensed aesthetician, who has been in the makeup industry for 24 years as a makeup artist and has also done special efforts and runway looks.

“Women who say they’re too busy to take the time to do makeup are doing themselves an injustice. If they look great, they’ll feel great,” Boehm said.

Shari Roberts, owner of the Oasis Club & Spa for Women, said the addition of Boehm to the Oasis team will stress the importance of women taking time for themselves. “The workshops are free to the public. You don’t have to be a member to attend,” Roberts said. “Bring your friends. The more the merrier!”

The August 16th workshop featured three different eye makeup looks: smoky eyes, romantic eyes, and exotic eye techniques. Another workshop will take place on September 27 and will feature interactive makeup stations designed for attendee participation. “The workshop will cover the basics in makeup application; ideal for young ladies just starting to use makeup,” Boehm said.

A bold eye technique will also be presented and also a segment called “Runway Ready.” Refreshments will also be served. These Ladies Night Out events will be scheduled monthly and focus on different makeup techniques and complexion concerns.
