Hometown doctors

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Not many people can say they’ve returned to the place they grew up to work. Doctors Marco Giannotti and Blake Berryhill are unique exceptions. Years after college and medical school, the pair have returned back to their hometown to work in the medical field and give back to the communities that raised them.

Dr. Giannotti graduated from McCullough High School in 1985 after moving to The Woodlands at age 14 from Alberta, Canada. He went on to earn a BA and BS at the University of Dallas before attending the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Giannotti was president of the medical staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands twice, for four years.

He has worked at the Women’s Healthcare Affiliates practice since July 1, 1997- 16 years, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Winner of the "Woodlands Online" “Doctor of the Year” last year, Dr. Giannotti has also been awarded “Top OB/GYN” by "Living Magazine" The Woodlands for 2013. Married to his wife Barbara since 1993, he has 2 children, a sophomore and a senior, that attend The Woodlands High School. He specializes in OB-GYN and is board certified.

Fun fact: Dr. Giannotti is trilingual. Other than English, he can speak Italian and Spanish. In his free time he loves to cook and spend time with his family.

Dr. Blake Berryhill was born in Houston and attended McCullough High School up to the tenth grade. To finish out high school, he attended Bangs High School in Bangs, TX. Dr. Berryhill went on to attend Southwestern University where he obtained a degree in biology. He then obtained his medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine. In addition, he completed his residency at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

He began working at the Women’s Healthcare Affiliates practice August 1, 2011 and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Berryhill specializes in gynecology and obstetrics.

Fun fact: Dr. Berryhill enjoys hunting, baseball and golfing. He also has two younger sisters.
