The John Cooper School Signing Day celebrates the next generation of student athletes
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The John Cooper School athletic department hosted a raucous celebration of eight seniors who have signed with university athletic programs for their next step in their academic and life journeys.
Seven of the eight students lined up at decorated tables with their families to put their John Hancocks to their letters of intent; the final student, Maggie King, had previously signed due to being in Florida on Signing Day to compete in equestrian events. King will be attending the University of Georgia.
The other students who celebrated their new journeys included:
- Cooper Dupuis, signing to play football at Trinity University
- David Esquival, signing to play football at Cornell
- Ashley Petrauskas, signing to play tennis at New York University
- Colton Rhoden III, signing to play football at Carnegie Mellon
- TD Robbins, signing to play football at Concordia
- Jordan Sheirr, signing to play basketball at Colby
- Eric Sipko, signing to play football at the US Air Force Academy
John Hoya, director of Cooper’s athletic department, told Woodlands Online, “This is a highlight for our athletics department where we get to honor and recognize what these students have done. We know the hard work they’ve done from their starts as little kids trying to figure out what they want to do, through middle school and high school, so the growth we see is rewarding for us.”
Woodlands Online extends its congratulations to this new crop of student athletes.
