THE WOODLANDS, Texas - In January 2014, The Woodlands Bible Church opened its doors. Located at 2407 Timberloch Place, the mission of the new Bible-based church is to show others how to apply the Bible to everyday living and to trust in the Lord.

Children in pre-K to 5th grade are invited to attend VBS at the new Woodlands Bible Church

Pastor Mark Keough of The Woodlands Bible Church is a long-time resident of The Woodlands. For many years, Keough originally taught a Bible study for singles, and that is also where he met his wife, Kim. The Bible study continued to grow tremendously and later became known as Pathfinders Fellowship. In August of 2013, Keough retired after nearly 27 years of being in the car business and decided to go into ministry full time.

Keough soon secured a facility on Timberloch and since Pathfinders Fellowship was recognized as a congregation for singles, Pastor Mark Keough decided to use a new name: The Woodlands Bible Church. The church ministers to everyone including famlies, couples, kids, the elderly, and singles.

“God has put us in a position where we have a fabulous facility and we have a church that is growing,” said Keough. “Our mission is to reach the community for the Lord and to be a beacon of light in what is already a great place.”

This summer, children who are in Pre-K through 5th grade are invited to attend Vacation Bible School at The Woodlands Bible Church. Kids will experience the wonders of God through Cokesbury’s Workshop of Wonders (WOW), while engaging in fun and imaginative activities.

“The idea is to imagine for God and build with God,” said Lateefa Farrera, administrator for The Woodlands Bible Church.

Vacation Bible School will take place from June 30 to July 3, 9 a.m. to noon, and snacks will be provided. The cost is $20 per child, and the fourth child is free!

“It gives the parents a place to take their kids, and it gives them a break,” said Keough. “We can educate that child and teach them the ways of God. It is a great opportunity to reach them with the Lord and influence them forever.”

The church is also looking for volunteers to help out with Vacation Bible School. Middle school and high school students are welcome to help! If interested in volunteering, email the church by clicking on the icon below.
