SPRING, Texas -- In August 1984, Pastors Albert and Monica Hale took a step of faith and started Grace Christian Fellowship in a local hotel. Now 30 years later, the church (renamed Generations Church) is still a thriving and vital part of the Spring/Woodlands community. After moving from several temporary sites as the church grew, they purchased a defunct shopping center on Rayford Road in the early 90’s and have remodeled and expanded the building through the years to what is now a beautiful, debt free sanctuary and campus located on fifteen acres.

The Hale’s son, Scott, serves alongside his parents as Associate Pastor. His wife, Melissa, leads the worship ministry as well as oversees Kidsworld, an exciting children’s ministry at Generations Church. With a staff of eight, and countless volunteers, the church continues to reach out with the love of Christ to all who come through the doors.

In addition to programs within the church serving all age groups from infants to senior citizens, there is also focused outreach through local and foreign missions. Pastor Hale has traveled extensively to foreign lands over the years, forging many life long partnerships. One of the main missions focus through Generations Church is the Church Builders 100 Club. Faithful people commit to giving $30-40 a month, and those funds are used to build church structures in remote villages in mostly Kenya, Guatemala, and India. To date, there have been 515 of the structures built and currently in use. Many of the structures also serve as schools and give the village residents a place to gather for fellowship. The church also cares and provides monthly for ten orphaned children at the Home of Hope in Birpara, India.

A new outreach of the church, Rayford Hope, gives focus to the local Spring/Woodlands neighborhoods providing for needs in their own ‘backyard.’ Two recent programs were of benefit to Pregnancy Assistance Center and Nourishment for the Needy, a local food pantry.

As the church looks to the future, it remains a steadfast ‘city on a hill’ at 405 Rayford Road. The church will celebrate with a special service featuring the Robbie Seay Band on Sunday, August 17 at 10 a.m. Pastors Albert and Monica extend a gracious invitation to everyone to attend this milestone anniversary celebration. Services are also streamed live on Sunday mornings at www.gchurch.net.
