Power to the She: Athleta opens in The Woodlands Mall

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Mall welcomed a new store on Monday, October 27, as Athleta, a women’s fitness clothing store, hosted its grand opening event. With over 80 stores nationwide, Athleta has found its way to The Woodlands. Founded in 1998 and acquired by Gap, Inc. in 2008, Athleta is a female-focused athletic apparel brand that is all about women’s empowerment. After all, their slogan is ‘Power to the She.’

“Athleta is not just catering to one sport,” said Melissa Gomez, store manager of The Woodlands location. “The everyday woman that shops at Athleta is active, she is with her family, and she is living a life in motion. She wears many hats, and we represent all different aspects of her life.”

Athleta offers all different types of apparel, tailoring to all different shapes and sizes. With the winter season nearing, the store is complete with light-weight jackets, running pants, sweaters, accessories and much more. Athleta strives to design the ultimate performance apparel for each and every active woman and tests their products on athletes before they are sold in stores. In fact, they even offer free hemming of pants, shorts and skirts to make sure it fits perfectly. Athleta apparel is not only high-quality athletic clothing, but it is also trendy and fashionable.

“I think this store is perfect for Woodlands women,” said Gomez. “We represent all different aspects of a woman’s life.”

Athleta is now open to the public and is located in The Woodlands Mall at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive, suite 1060.
