Anadarko’s Hackett Tower Achieves Leed® Silver Certification
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) today announced the newest building on the campus of its headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas, was awarded LEED® Silver green building certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
“From the ground up, Hackett Tower was designed and constructed to meet the criteria for this certification,” Anadarko Chairman and CEO Al Walker said. “Our facilities teams’ commitment to building a state of the art addition to our headquarters that is energy efficient, environmentally mindful and provides a healthy workplace for our employees, underscoring Anadarko’s commitment to the community in which we live and work.”
The 31-story Hackett Tower – named for retired CEO James Hackett – added 550,000 square feet of office space to Anadarko’s headquarters when it was completed in February 2014. Certified under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, Hackett Tower features hundreds of individual offices, meeting rooms with natural lighting and follows best-in-class green building strategies and practices.
In 2009, Anadarko’s Allison Tower – named to honor Anadarko’s first CEO, Robert Allison – was the first office complex in The Woodlands, Texas, to achieve LEED Certification®.
LEED®, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally recognized green building certification system. Certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building meets the highest green building and performance measures.
