THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Imagine an overnight experience in the woods with your family in a treehouse or authentic tipi; enjoying a movie under the stars; or a night hike through The Preserve. The South Montgomery County Family YMCA invites the community to join them at their Spring Campout on Friday evening, May 15 at the Creekside YMCA Outdoor Amphitheater. Creekside YMCA is located at 6464 Creekside Forest Drive in The Woodlands.

Check in begins at 6:00pm. Families will need to bring their own camping gear including sleeping bags, tent, flashlights, chairs, coolers, insect repellant and snacks. New this season! Campout registration fee includes a light cookout dinner and breakfast along with participation in the Saturday morning Family Adventure Day.

The family friendly movie will start at Dusk, approximately 7pm. In addition to the cookout, fresh popcorn and lemonade will be available throughout the movie. Following the movie, families will have the opportunity to experience a night hike, and play board games. Family Adventure Day on Saturday morning begins at 10:00am and will include family canoeing, archery, hiking, outdoor education and crafts.

In a time of increasing family fragmentation, the YMCA is committed to enriching family life: A happier family, a healthier family. The Y is a fun, social place which makes it comfortable for families to come together, re-connect with each other and connect with new friends.

Pre-registration is required. Limited tree house and tipi space available but families may bring their own tent for tent camping.
