Township to host a variety of holiday activities

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Township’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of holiday events for families to enjoy during the 2015 holiday season.

Many of the events sold out in 2014, and families are encouraged to register early for events. Activities for the 2015 holiday season include the following:

Christmas in a Kayak – families are encouraged to join Santa on a kayaking adventure to Northshore Park for a present hunt.


Date: Saturday, December 12, 2015, 9 a.m., at the Riva Row Boat House

Cost: $45 per parent/child pair

Deck the Halls, Christmas Tree Creations – this event gives families the opportunity to make festive ornaments and decorate a take-home tree.


Date: Friday, December 18, 2015, 4:30 p.m., at the Township Recreation Center

Cost: $60 resident family, $70 non-resident family

Pancakes at the North Pole – Santa and his reindeer can be joined for a pancake breakfast and photos at the Lodge at Rob Fleming Park.


Date: Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 9 a.m.

Cost: $40 resident family of four, $45 non-resident family of four

Gingerbread House Making at the Lodge at Rob Fleming Park


Date: Saturday, December 19, 2015, at noon

Ages: 5 to 12 years

Cost: $20 resident, $25 non-resident

Milk and Cookies with Santa – children also hear a Christmas story by the fireplace and more at the Lodge at Rob Fleming Park.

Cost: $15 resident, $20 non-resident

Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt – Don’t miss the Candy Cane Hunt at the Lodge at Rob Fleming Park

Ages: 6 to 12 years

Cost: $15 resident, $20 non-resident

Breakfast with Santa – Join Santa for breakfast by the fireplace at the Lodge at Rob Fleming Park


Date: Sunday, December 20, 2015, at 9 a.m.

Cost: $40 resident family of four, $45 non-resident family of four

Evening with the Elves at the Lodge – Join Santa and his elves for dinner and S’mores at Rob Fleming Park.

Cost: $40 resident family of four, $45 non-resident family of four

The Woodlands Township will also be offering Sunny Dayz Holiday Camp for Thanksgiving week. This camp is affiliated with the hugely popular Sunny Dayz Summer Camp and is based upon the same structure. The schedule for Thanksgiving is:


Thanksgiving week: November 23, 24, 25, 2015

Each day of camp will provide the campers with different themed activities in which to participate. The camps are for children 5 to 12 years of age, and the fee is $50 per child per day. Sibling discounts are available, as well as discounts for campers that attend all days of camp.
