The other day, specifically on a Saturday, I was just starting my work day and setting out open house signs at a busy intersection. Low and behold, as I parked my car, I noticed the always so famous red and blue flashing lights behind me. As I sat there wondering to myself what I could have done, I noticed the Montgomery County Deputy approaching my car. As I rolled my window down I could not get out a single word before the Deputy said

"Hello, I just noticed you pulled off the road and I'm just making sure that your OK, or if you need help."

I immediately smiled. I told the officer that I was just putting out my open house signs and that I was OK. I then shook his hand and thanked him for his service, and for showing the real side behind the badge, the caring, loving and serving side.

Unfortunately today,, law enforcement officers do not get the credit they deserve. The kind acts they do on a daily basis tend to go unnoticed. As a former Deputy myself, I wanted to share this story to shine a little light. To help show the good and not the perceived bad reputation of Law Enforcement. Officer's, Deputies and so on, do have the best intentions and good-willed hearts for the citizens, even though society tends to only publicize the negative.
