Northside Lexus raises funds for CASA

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Northside Lexus hosted its 15th annual charity golf tournament at the Carlton Woods – Fazio Course in The Woodlands, Texas on Tuesday, May 9. Since 2009, Northside Lexus has raised over $300,000 for CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County, which has provided approximately 200 abused and neglected children with Advocates to look out for their best interests while in the foster care system.

“The 2017 Northside Lexus Invitational Golf Tournament was a huge success once again,” says Ann McAlpin, Executive Director of CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County, “The weather was ideal, and the course was in spectacular condition. Thank you to David Trice and Northside Lexus for pulling together such an incredible event, year after year.”

Tournament participants enjoyed a variety of competitions in addition to 18 holes of golf.

The first place team for gross score included Ron Goodwine, Troy Utz, Andrew Atkinson, and Ryan White.

The team placing first for net score included Jim Funke, Shane Bayless, Daryl Radley, and Tom Laskey.

Closest to the pin winners were Shawn Golteen, Phil Inman, Ryan White, and Vince Jackson.

Proceeds raised at the golf tournament benefit CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County.

It costs approximately $1,500 to provide a volunteer Advocate for one abused or neglected child for one year.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) speak up for the best interests of children who have been removed from their parents and are under the Court's jurisdiction.

CASA’s mission is to continue to provide a court-appointed volunteer to serve as Guardian ad Litem for every child in the foster care system.

For the past 25 years, CASA has been training volunteers, raising awareness in the community, and working to stop the cycle of child abuse in Montgomery County.

“It is such an honor to receive the support of these outstanding community members,” McAlpin continues, “Currently, almost 6 children are entering foster care in Montgomery County every week. By participating in the tournament, these individuals are helping ensure CASA is able to provide an Advocate for every single child in need.”
