New Danville Wranglers win big at Sunshine Day at the Montgomery County Fair
THE WOODLANDS, TX – New Danville, a nonprofit organization founded in 2005 that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a rural environment promoting dignity, respect, and the opportunity to live enriched and purposeful lives, recently had a significant day at the Montgomery County Fair’s Sunshine Day Fair Show.
According to their mission statement, it is the vision of New Danville that their clients and residents – affectionately known as ‘Wranglers’ – have the opportunity to live, learn, work, and grow in communities of their choice.
Wranglers look forward to this special event all year long, and this year’s incredible participation made it even more memorable.
“Our clients truly put their hearts into their projects, and it showed in every detail – from stunning photography to beautifully crafted woodworking pieces,” said Mike Painter, President & CEO of New Danville. “We are especially proud to celebrate the eight clients from New Danville who placed and won awards, a testament to their dedication and creativity.”
In the Woodcraft category, Alysa Ellen was named Grand Champion, Alyx Gautier was named Reserve Champion, and Jessica Peterson and Eric Jones got Third and Fourth Place, respectively. In the Arts category, Leah Stryjewski was named Reserve Champion. And in the Photography category, Melanie Puentes was named Grand Champion, Amy Chandler was named Reserve Champion, and Pam Bagley got Fourth Place.
