Reminder — Register for Free Unclaimed Property Holder Training
AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Property Code (Sections 74.101 and 74.301) requires businesses operating in Texas to report and deliver any uncashed checks, payroll/wages, unclaimed customer/vendor credits, abandoned accounts or any other unclaimed financial assets to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on or before July 1 of each year.
To help businesses comply, the Comptroller’s office offers free training webinars for holders of unclaimed property, covering these topics and more:
Unclaimed property overview
State requirements for unclaimed property compliance
Your responsibilities as a business operating in Texas
How to report unclaimed property
How property is returned to rightful owners
Penalty and interest assessments for non-compliance
