Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District wants you to take advantage of Sales Tax-Free Memorial Day Weekend for water-efficient products
THE WOODLANDS, TX – This weekend, May 25 - 27, the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District encourages all water users to take advantage of the tax-free weekend on WaterSense and other water-conserving items as announced by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.
For the weekend, you can buy, rent, or lease on the following Energy Star-labeled items (with certain conditions): air conditioners, refrigerators, ceiling fans, incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs, clothes wishers, dishwashers, and dehumidifiers.
Additionally, the tax-free savings are available on all products with a WaterSense label or logo.
Certain water-conserving products that are used for conserving or retaining groundwater, recharging water tables, or decreasing ambient air temperature, are also eligible. From soil and mulch to rain barrels and collection systems to trees and plants, to irrigation and sprinkler systems, you can walk away with more money in your pocket.
Contractors, landscapers, and other service providers can learn about tax-exempt items for business use by visiting www.comptroller.texas.gov/taxes.
