Ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union, Rep. Brady discussed the positive impacts the GOP Tax Cuts have had on our economy.

Rep. Brady emphasized that, thanks to the GOP Tax Cuts, the State of our Economy is strong:

“When it comes to the economy, the State of the Union is strong. It’s been just over a year since we’ve had this new tax code and I think it’s performed better than expected.”

“The economic expansion has drawn more people in the workforce, increasing wages. Businesses are starting to invest here, where the old code said ‘invest overseas.’”

“Because the economy is stronger, there is over $100 billion more from individual taxes and payroll taxes because people are going back to work and their paychecks are higher.”

“I still think the best is yet to come.”

When asked on the GOP Tax Cuts’ impact for workers and families, Rep. Brady said this new tax code is helping all corners of our economy:

“Three out of every four dollars in tax reform goes to families and individuals. That is where a lot of the benefit from this code went.”

“GDP growth at 3 percent or more – far beyond what was predicted before the new tax code took place.”

“Wages were stagnant for a decade. The year-over-year numbers are at an 11-year high – that’s really positive.”

“The number of Americans who have sort of given up hope of getting and finding a job are now reaching into the workforce in a major way – those numbers are important as well.”
