MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- You just might recognize some familiar places while watching television very soon. A new TV series, “Breaking Strongholds,” will be filmed right here in Montgomery County.

“Breaking Strongholds,” set to be produced by Reflective Media Productions, is a faith-based series aiming to shed light on the spiritual battles believers face. Reflective Media Productions was born from a group of individuals seeking to share their faith and help others through the use of media.

After releasing the award-winning, faith-based movie “We Are Stronger,” Reflective Media began working on this series. It’s not meant to be a sequel to the movie; it’s a continuation. “Breaking Strongholds” reveals how some of the characters have progressed and are now helping others.

The official website for the series explains the plot set up. “Set in the rural town of Montgomery, TX, this quiet little community is turned upside-down when the beloved high school art teacher goes missing. The once unified town is now in disarray due to fiery accusations, which have caused division in the community, churches and even families,” the website states. The drama will include twists and turns within the plot-line.

All eight episodes scheduled for the first season address spiritual and mental wellness issues such as teen suicide, depression, effects of social media, post-traumatic stress, eating disorders, sexual abuse and more. The series, still in the pre-production stage, should begin filming the pilot episode this summer.

“Auditions were selective and held in The Woodlands/Magnolia area,” said Carla McDougal, executive producer. “We are so excited for the full cast to be unveiled at The Big Reveal kickoff for ‘Breaking Strongholds’ on April 6 in Montgomery at Hodge Podge Lodge.”

“We will be filming at a variety of locations in Montgomery County, places like God’s Garage and at BeanPunk Coffee Shop in downtown Montgomery,” McDougal said. “The town of Montgomery is filled with amazing, heartfelt people ready to work together. From the moment we shared the vision of this TV series, people jumped on board to help us … This endeavor is a community effort, and the people in Montgomery understand and grasp the purpose.”

Below is a list of the non-profit organizations to be featured in ''Breaking Strongholds”:

- The Stronger Alliance: Going Deeper small groups, trauma recovery organizations

- Cassidy Joined for Hope: teen suicide awareness and prevention

- God’s Garage: helping wives of deployed military, single moms and widows

- Mosaics of Mercy: a hub of empowerment supporting each unique journey toward mental health and addiction recovery

- Trinity Reins Ranch: faith-based, therapeutic equestrian services, empowering individuals to grow, heal and learn

The production team for this television series is composed of three individuals; Carla McDougal, executive producer, Robin Murray, screenwriter, and Jake Allen, director. All three reside in Montgomery County.

If you want to be in the know with the full scoop on this TV series, you’ll want to attend The Big Reveal event on Saturday, April 6. This fund-raising event will include a silent auction and a live auction. One of the items in the auction is a business spotlight in episode 1 for businesses within Montgomery County. Several other fun items will be up for grabs in the auction such as a cameo appearance for a male role and female role in episode 1 and a day with the stars on set.
