Sales Begin in New 700-Home Woodforest Neighborhood

Residential development is continuing in Woodforest with the introduction of a new neighborhood — The Crest.

Highland Homes, Lennar and Perry Homes will be the first builders to offer floor plans in the neighborhood. Pricing starts from the $230,000s. Highland Homes has opened the first of five model homes currently planned. The Crest also will feature a 5-acre park.

The Crest will bring 700 additional homesites to the 3,000-acre community and will be one of Woodforest’s largest neighborhoods. Three sections of The Crest are under active development comprising 120 homesites.

“This new neighborhood is not only in the most northern part of Woodforest to be developed so far, but it is also at the highest elevation within the community — that’s why we’re calling it The Crest,” said Virgil Yoakum, General Manager of Woodforest. “Buyers will enjoy the varied landscape and the wide selection of available homes.”

In addition to the model it has already opened, Highland Homes will soon start construction on a second model home. Perry Homes also will have two models, and both should start construction soon. Lennar also will soon begin construction on one model home for the neighborhood.

“The park area is still in the planning stages, but it will complement our array of innovative parks found in Woodforest, such as the accessible Wallaroo Park and the urban-inspired Kingsley Park,” Yoakum said.

The Crest will connect to Woodforest’s commercial district, which includes the unique Pine Market retail center. The 40-acre center will be anchored by Harvest Market and will offer walkable streets of shopping, restaurants and services.
