Woodlands Christian Academy Senior, Quinn Conrey, Named National Merit Semifinalist
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) is proud to announce that senior Quinn Conrey has been named a Semifinalist in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, placing him among a select group of academically talented high school seniors across the nation.
Students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during their junior year. Approximately 1.3 million students entered the 2027 competition, and just over 16,000 were named Semifinalists, representing less than 1% of U.S. graduating seniors. Semifinalists are among the highest-scoring program entrants in their respective states.
While this distinction recognizes Quinn's exceptional academic achievement, his contributions to TWCA and the greater community extend far beyond the classroom.
Quinn is a scholar, varsity athlete, student leader, entrepreneur, and committed servant. He has competed in varsity football and tennis and has held leadership positions with both DECA and Science National Honor Society. Through these roles, he has helped grow student involvement and participated in service initiatives, including helping lead a community blood drive.
Service is also an important part of Quinn's life. He has participated in a mission trip to Quito, Ecuador, served through National Honor Society, mentored children through Under Over Ministries, coached younger students, and supported charitable fundraising efforts.
Quinn's academic interests center on calculus, physics, engineering, and emerging technology. He has already undertaken independent research related to quantum circuits and hopes to pursue advanced study and a career in the quantum field. Ultimately, one of Quinn's stated goals is, “to make a difference as a Christian in STEM.”
As a Semifinalist, Quinn is eligible to advance to Finalist standing and continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships.
The Woodlands Christian Academy congratulates Quinn and his family on this extraordinary achievement and celebrates the scholarship, leadership, service, character, and faith he represents within the TWCA community.
