THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a seminar on human resources mastery for the small business owner with guest speaker Haley Paul of Stibbs & Co. on Thursday, May 16 from 9-11 a.m. at The Chamber’s Lakeshore Conference Room, located at 9320 Lakeside Blvd., Suite 200, The Woodlands, TX 77381.

Human resource management is one of the most important aspects of successfully running any business, big or small. It is essential to be familiar with the ever-changing set of labor and employment laws passed by the state and federal government.

The seminar, “HR Department for Small Business,” is designed for small or potential business owners and will offer an introduction into the various aspects of human resource management, including discussions of which state and federal laws pertain to small businesses.

Paul, an attorney with the law firm Stibbs & Co., focuses on labor and employment litigation and consulting, as well as commercial litigation. Her experience includes drafting and enforcing non-solicitation, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements. Paul has defended and prosecuted trade secrets misappropriation cases and defended employers in Fair Labor Standards acts cases. She has represented and counseled employers through Form I-9 audits by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Her merits also include successfully representing several employers during investigations by the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

“The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce knows how vital education is to the survival and growth of small businesses,” Cyndi Alvarado, vice president of membership, said. “Every course offered by The Chamber’s Seminar Team is led by industry experts and designed to present relative information on issues facing business professionals in the management of their companies and careers.”

The cost is $50 and Chamber members receive a discounted rate of $25.
