Twenty One ‘Pioneers’ to be Recognized At 2019 Cooper Commencement

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Each year at The John Cooper School’s Commencement, seniors who have attended the school continuously since kindergarten are designated as Cooper Pioneers. Twenty one seniors from the 112-member Class of 2019 will be recognized as Pioneers at Cooper’s Commencement on May 24. The tradition was established at Commencement for the Class of 2001, when The Woodlands founder George Mitchell and Cynthia Woods Mitchell bestowed special shawls on the first Cooper Pioneers.

Seniors from the Class of 2019 who will be given this special designation and the colleges they will attend in the fall include: Faith Bugenhagen (Emerson College), Jude Bugenhagen (Baylor University), Nicholas Davis (Southern Methodist University), Katie Evans (George Washington University), Kate Fisher (Washington & Lee University), Daniel Gerber (University of Southern California), Tierney Gregory (Babson College), Sean Kelly (Texas State University), Matthew Krehbiel (University of Texas, Austin), Logan Leax (George Washington University), William McNeill (Southern Methodist University), Ava Minarovic (Colorado School of Mines), Evan Minarovic (Northwestern University), Gabrielle Mussalli (Villanova University), Maya Robles (University of Southern California), Lauren Sands (Washington University at St. Louis), Braden Sebesta (Carleton College), Mitchell Shannon (Elon University), Madeleine Smith (Washington University at St. Louis), Omar Suki (University of Texas, Austin) and Maxwell Warner (Texas A&M University).
