VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

10/2 vs. Duchesne Academy • 3-0 WIN

The Dragons picked up their 28th win with a 3-0 victory over Duchesne on Dig Pink Night as the teams participated to make strides for breast cancer research, the real winner of the night.

Anna Claire Adam: 10 of the team’s 31 kills

Laura Weatherford: 25 digs

Lauren Wolford: 21 assists

Coach Ray Hedden: I am very proud of the Dig Pink efforts the girls have put in to this awareness campaign against breast cancer! When the video played, it was surreal seeing all the students who are touched by cancer. It was a little emotional watching the work the kids and staff did come together. Of course, it was nice to top it off with the sweep.

The Dragons’ defense held an explosive Oakridge offense to 166 total yards on the night. The defense gave up zero points in the second half with three redzone stops and a blocked field goal. Oakridge combined for 30 total yards in third and fourth quarter.

Coach DeHaven: Our football team has found our identity on the offense side. Our offensive line had an amazing night along with tough hard runs by multiple backs. We took calculated shots when Oakridge loaded the box. I thought our offense staff did a great job with their game plan. We need to clean things up on the special team’s side of the ball. We put our defense in bad positions, but they responded well to the adversity. The players in this program are selfless not selfish and that’s a great thing to have. This was a great team win!
