HUNTSVILLE, TX -- Dr. Ratnapradipa, a professor in the Department of Population Health at Sam Houston State University, spoke about the impact of the coronavirus on our area and its significance from a Global Health perspective.

In Dr. Ratnapradipa’s view:

“Houston is a hub for international travel so it is important to always be prepared and have levels of emergency preparedness ready.”

“Public health measures that we can take individually are critically important on a local level in situations like this.”

“The most important thing we can do is take care of ourselves. Wash your hands, become more cautious of crowds and areas of high traffic such as airports and hospitals.”

”To counteract this virus we need medical experts working to fight to find immunizations, but just as important are preventative measures by the rest of the population with cleanliness and caution.”
