Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union supports students through Lone Star College Foundation endowment

HOUSTON, TX -- A recent donation of more than $21,000 has brought Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union‘s endowment with Lone Star College Foundation to $25,000. The funding will provide scholarships for Lone Star College-CyFair students.

“Lone Star College-CyFair students have benefited from strong community partnerships since our doors first opened,” said Valerie Jones, Ed.D., LSC-CyFair president. “This generous donation will open those doors even wider for students in our community to realize their dreams.”

Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union’s connection to education dates back to 1956 when a group of 10 educators founded the organization. Supporting local schools has been part of the story ever since. Today, the credit union provides scholarships to local high school students; gives away classroom makeovers, mortgage payments and cars for local teachers; and donates to high school booster clubs through its School Spirit Debit Card program.

The Falcon Debit Card helps raise funds for LSC-CyFair scholarships at no additional cost to users. Proceeds generated from purchases of $5 or more go directly to LSC Foundation.
