Local Photographer awarded Mastery in Family Photography Certification

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Kara Powell Photography has been capturing growing families for 11 years. Kara specializes in maternity, newborn, and family sessions, but the family sessions are truly her favorite.

“I absolutely love photographing families and preserving their memories. The thrill of meeting a new family, capturing what makes them unique and different from year to year. Then discovering which images will be their favorites…There is never a dull moment,” Kara shares. “Being recognized as a Master by my peers is a true blessing. Especially since there were onlysix selected in the whole US.”

The National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) awarded Kara with a
Master in Family Photography in May of 2020. This certification is NOT a photo competition. The Mastery program rewards NAPCP members by acknowledging excellence in their craft. Portfolios are scored according to consistency and technical skill.

“Certifications and awards are amazing, but the most important thing to me is that my clients are happy. I love what I do and the fact that my clients allow me to do this each and every day.”

Family sessions with Kara Powell Photography are taken on location throughout the Woodlands and greater Houston area, or in the comfort of your own home. Kara offers full-service sessions, meaning she holds a consultation with the client before the photo shoot to go over questions, wardrobe, and any concerns. After the photo session she meets with the clients in their home or via Zoom to go over their gallery of images, the album and fine art options.

Each photo package with Kara Powell Photography includes digital images, yet Kara
recommends purchasing a tangible piece to display the images you most love. Another service Kara offers is the delivery and hanging of your purchased beautiful artwork.
