THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Grogan's Mill Village Association donated a bench in Tamarac Park in memory of Virginia Dellinger. Virginia served with great distinction on the Village Association Board for over 20 years. Virginia enjoyed many hours at Tamarac Park with Phoebe, her beloved Jack Russell. Many thanks to Michelle Betcher, Parks Project Manager for her assistance in selecting the perfect site for the bench.

Grogan's Mill Rd at South Millbend

Montgomery County Commissioners Court approved advertising for bids for an intersection improvement/signalization project at Grogan's Mill Road at South Millbend Drive.

Project scope: This project will create additional turn-lane storage by constructing a second left-turn lane for traffic on:

Northbound Grogan’s Mill turning onto westbound South Millbend

Southbound Grogan’s Mill turning onto eastbound South Millbend

Eastbound South Millbend turning onto northbound Grogan’s Mill

In addition, right-turn lane access from westbound South Millbend onto northbound Grogan’s Mill will be improved.

Signal locations have been redesigned for this project, which will include concrete median removal as well as additional pavement. The project will require rerouting some intersection traffic during the project.

New Smart Water Meters

The Woodlands Water Agency will begin installing new smart water meters later on this year. Many of the water meters in Grogan's Mill Village are 40-years-old and no longer measure water use accurately. The new meters will electronically send information about water use throughout the day, allowing residents to monitor their consumption. This improved information system will allow users to determine if they have a leak or are over-watering with their irrigation system. No tax increases have been made or are anticipated for the installation of water meters.

Subsidence Measuring Device

The excessive use of ground water by well pumping has caused subsidence in Southern Montgomery County. Several areas in Grogan’s Mill Village near Spring Creek are impacted by this subsidence. The use of surface water for the last several years has stopped the subsidence. Lonestar Ground Water Conservation District has proposed future plans that increase the use of groundwater under the Village. Several MUD Directors have been working on locating a subsidence measuring device in the Village. This is progressing well with the Woodlands Water Agency taking the lead and the GMVA has voted to provide $1000 towards securing the measuring device. The LoneStar Ground water Conservation District and the Harris Galveston Subsidence District have all agreed to share the cost of this installation. The SJRA will provide the site and all utilities.

Profits from Farmer's Market vendor fees are returned to our community through various philanthropic contributions, school donations, scholarships, and community programs.
