THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Pandemic of 2020 has brought out good and bad. Wine & Food Week has had their share of challenges working with COVID-19, developing extensive and applauded safety protocols and rescheduled events from what was traditionally a week-long line-up in June. Originally, the Wine Walk at Market Street was set for Thursday, June 4th but delayed due to COVID-19 safety measures and restrictions. The event has been set for Thursday, November 12th. Unfortunately a fraudulent operator created a lookalike page, publishing photos and logos from the actual Wine Walk page as a shared production by Wine & Food Week Television, an entity that doesn’t even exist in conjunction with Bernhardt Winery. After several reports to Facebook of the fraud, the host of the event page changed their profile to a food delivery service.

The Producers of Wine & Food Week and Wine Walk at Market Street are working diligently to get the word out so that persons who want to attend the Wine Walk know that the actual date is November 12 and not the fraudulent October 1st event created by a scam artist.

“We’re committed to delivering quality events in a safe and enjoyable environment at a time when events are allowed, albeit modified for current restrictions,” says Founder & Co-Producer Constance McDerby. “And we are ready to deliver on that commitment for the Wine Walk on November 12th. We want the public to be aware of the scam in hopes of avoiding the loss of ticket costs and any potential fees paid to a fraudulent company.”

For the fake event, the scammers have used quotes from the Founder as well as content from previous press releases to make their announcements more believable.

The authentic Wine Walk at Market Street will take place on Thursday, November 12th. The Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting will take place on Thursday, October 29. Other events will be announced as available. The only place to secure tickets are at wineandfoodweek.com.
