The Woodlands Fire Department respond to a motor vehicle accident at Portofino shopping center

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Just after 7 this morning multiple TWFD South Montgomery County Fire Department and Montgomery County Hospital District units responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 19000 Blk. Of S IH 45 in front of the Portofino shopping center. 911 Callers reported several vehicles involved with one ending up in a pond. On arrival firefighters confirmed a vehicle in the pond but the driver had self-extricated. A total of 3 vehicles were involved but only the driver of the truck that had left the roadway required transport to the hospital. Shenandoah PD and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office are investigating. The main lanes of I-45 which had been closed are now reopened.
