THE WOODLANDS, TX - Maris Joslin and the The Woodlands 4U Lady Highlanders took both games of a twin bill over Kingwood, 8-2 and Klein, 12-6 in what was an impromptu Lacrosse Play-Day Saturday at the Alden Bridge Sports Park.

Joslin found twine five times and collected nine ground balls on the day to help lead her team to victory.

Coach Jennifer Conner was encouraged with her team's development...

'For most of these girls this is their first year playing lacrosse...so to see them put what they've learned in practice to work in a competitive environment is such a thrill for the coaches, parents and most important for the players. At such a young age, we stress sportsmanship above all else and make sure they learn early on to have respect for their opponents. At the end of each game to act the same whether they win or lose is so important.'

Peyton Herrmann collected four goals on the day. Helena Butryn tallied three, as did Kate Dalton. Olivia Foley, Maggie Shingler, Riley Naughton, Izzy Calderon and Luca Kilkeary all struck pay-dirt once.

Between the pipes, Samantha Whitten, Zoe Conner and Naughton combined for 11 saves on the day for the Lady Highlanders.

In The Woodlands, there are lacrosse programs available for girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade. If your young athlete would like to participate, you can contact Jennifer Spartz at 248-767-0258.
