MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Hospital District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can confirm a real-time emergency exercise is scheduled for the morning of Thursday, June 10th in The Woodlands. MCHD EMS, multiple county fire departments and law enforcement will participate. To avoid any confusion or fear in the surrounding community, MCHD and MCHOEM are asking local media and residents to spread the word that there will be a large scale emergency exercise for first responders on June 10th, and residents should not be alarmed by numerous emergency vehicles and personnel in The Woodlands near Woodlands Parkway and Six Pines Drive. In an effort to maintain the integrity of the simulation and to maximize the opportunity for first responders to react in real time, details of the drill are being withheld. The exercise is designed to allow first responders to practice their response efforts in a realistic environment. The drill will last approximately 4 hours. If you have any questions regarding the drill, please contact Sean Simmonds, MCHD Emergency Preparedness and Safety Coordinator at ssimmonds@mchd-tx.org.
