THE WOODLANDS, TX – If you are looking to start a new project regarding home or outdoor living, Texwood Shows has a treat for you. The Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe will be ground zero for the August 28 & 29th Montgomery Country Home & Outdoor Living Show. From landscaping and home building projects to organizing your stuff and interior design, this event is something you don’t want to miss. This isn’t your average home and garden show. This show is set in a huge, 56,000 square foot Convention Center that will combine experts from around the world and well as local and regional contractors. It will host hands-on workshops and presentations for those biting at the bit to get answers to important home questions, chose companies to complete projects as well as let creative home and outdoor living juices flow. We sat down with Tony Wood, CEO and President of Texwood Shows to ask him more questions about his upcoming show. We identified 5 cool things about the show that some people may not know.

#1 - Background of event

Texwood’s local home and outdoor living show is no stranger to our community. This event was first introduced to Montgomery County in 2003 and was originally hosted at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. As the event grew, the show eventually made its way to the current location at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe. In addition to this show, Texwood Shows also presents a home and garden show in Cypress as well as in Humble. The annual Montgomery County show is a fixture in our community and ranks as one of the more popular events in general and the most popular home related event in particular. For years, Tony has brought to the area some of the best home and garden experts in the world. He says that his show’s purpose “is to have live events where homeowners can meet companies about renovation projects. Instead of tracking builders one by one, customers can find them all in one place.” He has presented a show each year since 2003 with last year being a virtual show due to Covid-19. Each year presents new products and services to visitors. The show has grown into an event that is a must attend experience.

#2 - Contractors, Contractors and More Contractors

Tony mentioned that one of the benefits of attending this show is the opportunity to talk with and in a sense “interview” potential contractors for new projects. Instead of going from place to place or visiting multiple websites to find information, you will get the chance to talk to contractors in person at one central location. These are not fly-by-night contractors either. These are some of the best companies and people in the business. From patios and pergolas, blinds and windows to home builders, interior designer and garden experts, there is no question you can ask that one of the show contractors can’t answer.

In addition, Angela Maxwell will present her unique story to visitors at the show. In May 2014 Angela left Bend, Oregon with a life pared down to what fit into a duffle bag tied to a cart. She was headed around the world - alone and on foot. Six-and-a-half years. Twenty thousand miles. Thirteen countries. Four continents. Twelve pairs of shoes and too many cups of noodles consumed to count. Hear her story and meet Angela Maxwell at the show.
