THE WOODLANDS, TX -- A Conroe man who pointed a firearm at law enforcement officers found himself in the hospital and could be facing multiple charges.

Not the first time MCSO deputies have been called to this address

Around midnight of this morning, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 10700 block of Stidham Road in Conroe in response to a domestic violence call.

“The deputies were advised that the male and female involved in the verbal altercation that was escalating were husband and wife,” said Lt. Scott Spencer of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Prior to the officers’ arrival, it was reported that the male suspect had brandished multiple firearms and was threatening to shoot the animals that were inside the house. When the deputies arrived in response to the call, the suspect began to run from the deputies, who gave chase.

“The suspect turned around and brandished a firearm in the direction of the deputies,” said Spencer. “Fearing for their life, their safety, the deputies discharged their firearms, striking the individual multiple times.”

The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition and is expected to survive. Currently, according to Spencer, the suspect is looking at charges of aggravated assault on a public servant. Additional charges could be forthcoming and elevated pending the outcome of the investigation of the initial domestic violence call.

The woman on the scene was treated for minor injuries and is currently being interviewed by MCSO detectives, as well as by investigators of the District Attorney’s office and Texas Rangers.

Spencer pointed out that deputies had previously been called out to the same location in 2019 concerning a shooting incident where allegedly a nine-year-old boy was shot and killed by his pre-teen brother. When asked for specifics, Spencer indicated at this early point in the investigation he had no further knowledge of the status of that case.
