Eight World Golf Hall of Famers Take Aim at 2022 Insperity Invitational Title

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- —Eight World Golf Hall of Fame Members have added their names to the tee
sheet at the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare, April 25 – May 1, 2022.
Ernie Els, who was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2011, will be back for his second?straight trip to The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course along with Retief Goosen, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Jose Maria Olazabal, Colin Montgomerie, Mark O’Meara, and Vijay Singh.
“This incredible group of legends in our game have combined to win more than 90 times on the PGA TOUR and more than 60 times on the PGA TOUR Champions in addition to providing us with countless memorable Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup appearances,” added Naugle. “They rekindle special moments for all of our spectators, but equally as important, they create new memories for young golf fans who take our event in each year.”
This marquee group brings with them seven Green Jackets, two U.S. Open titles, six Claret Jugs, and two Wanamaker Trophies.
Last week, the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare announced Langer will be one of eight former champions who will also tee it up in 2022. The impressive list includes Mike Weir (2021), Scott McCarron (2019), Bernhard Langer (2018, 2014, 2008, 2007), John Daly (2017), Jesper Parnevik (2016), Esteban Toledeo (2013), Fred Funk (2012), and Jay Haas (2006).
3M Greats of Golf Headline Special Saturday Competition
Jack is coming back, and he is bringing 15 legends of golf with him to battle once again in The Woodlands. Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino along with 10 fellow World Golf Hall of Famers including lady legends – Annika Sorenstam, Pat Bradley, Juli Inkster and Laura Davies – will be showcased in the ninth edition of the 3M Greats of Golf on Saturday, April 30.
The distinguished group of 16 has combined for 232 PGA TOUR victories, 155 LPGA TOUR victories, 78 major championship titles, and 158 PGA TOUR Champions wins.
“We are so thrilled to be able to welcome this incredible group of golfers, who are equally remarkable people and special role models for all of us, back to The Woodlands,” said Naugle. “Reuniting these extraordinary ambassadors of our game has become a staple of tournament week for us. I know they are going to put on another great show and will once again be a highlight of tournament week.”
The 16 players will be grouped in the following foursomes and will play an 18 hole scramble format.

The Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare offers free grounds only admission tickets courtesy of Insperity, Woodforest National Bank, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Spectators are encouraged to “Fill the Hill” around the 18th green.
The grounds ticket also includes free parking and shuttle service.
