THE WOODLANDS, TX – Quote of the week: “Life is better in flip-flops.” – Unknown

The school year is rapidly drawing to a close and the weather is getting warmer and drier. What a perfect time to enjoy some Woodlands-area events! Here’s our Top 5 for this week.

Wednesday, May 18
It may have a new name, but the networking fun is the same. The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Networking Breakfast is now Breakfast Connections! This fun and tasty event is open to all Woodlands Chamber members and guests. Members in attendance will be given the opportunity to give a 60 second commercial on the microphone. Guests will be allowed to give their name, title and company name. Attendees should plan to arrive early. The event will start promptly at 7:01 am. For added publicity, members are encouraged to bring a door prize. With this week beginning American Craft Beer Week, tell us some way you can keep your clients' taps flowing. This month’s spotlight table sponsor is Perez McGill Law Firm, PLLC. Registration is required!

Just because it’s fun doesn’t mean it also can’t be lifesaving! Be sure to attend the Memorial Hermann Stop the Bleed Course starting at 9:00 am. The Stop the Bleed Course was created after the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting to teach laypersons how to buy time for first responders by controlling life-threatening bleeding that can occur at home, at work and at play. Participants will learn:

1. How to identify 'life-threatening' bleeding
2. The steps to take, in order, that can save a life by stopping life-threatening bleeding
3. How to keep yourself safe in an unsecure situation

Additionally, all participants will receive a certificate of completion and will be entered into a drawing for a Stop The Bleed kit that you can keep in your car or home ($80 value).
