The good news is, we can finally expect some high temperatures in the 80s and maybe some lows in the 60s. The bad news is, there’s a lot of rain, thunder, and lightning to go along with them. Monday, September 28
Start the morning off with some golfing for a worthy cause at Play a Round for the Wranglers Golf Tournament, benefiting New Danville, taking place at The Woodlands Country Club - Palmer Course on 100 Grand Fairway. It may not be too late to glom onto a team who’s missing a member, or you can always show up as a spectator. Starting at 10:30 a.m. until noon is registration, lunch, and the driving range. At noon you get the shotgun start, and from 4:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. is dinner, the open bar, awards, and presentations.

This course is geared for all cameras in Canon system with emphasis on all Canon cameras with SCN or scenes features. They will be reviewing and learning all basic features of the Canon System so that you can get off the Green Mode and get the most out of your camera. You will learn how to shoot in all the different modes of your camera, as well as how to know which mode to use in different situations. They will also go over all the buttons on your camera and how to use them.

Drop by The Woodlands Children’s Museum’s Pop-Up Science station every Thursday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for exciting, interactive learning. Today features Candy Corn Boats. In this fun Halloween STEM challenge, children will become engineers and design a mini “boat” using aluminum foil and candy corn. This hands-on activity encourages children to explore buoyancy, weight, balance, and engineering while practicing problem-solving and making predictions. This Floor Program is included in the price of admission, which is $10 for adults and children 1 year and older.

Run for Hope is a family event filled with fun, a delicious breakfast, and stunning scenery, all while running to raise funds to transform the lives of kids and teens in foster care. Participants can choose between a rimed 10K, a rimed 5K, or a casual 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. Medals are awarded to the overall male and female winners of the 5K and 10K, as well as the top finishers in specific age groups. Beyond the run, the event features a light breakfast, children’s entertainment, and partner booths where you can learn more about child abuse awareness, fostering, and adoption from Love Fosters Hope.

The Woodlands Township invites residents to join together today from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. for National Night Out, an annual community tradition that fosters neighborhood connections while promoting public safety and crime prevention. Residents are encouraged to host or attend neighborhood gatherings as part of National Night Out. Register your neighborhood party to receive various supplies including balloons, giveaways, yard signs and party ideas. Also, registered parties may receive a visit from local law enforcement with a chance to participate in the ID the Burglar Challenge.

The Woodlands Car Club and area auto enthusiasts will gather at Market Street today from 6:00 - 10:00 a.m. to continue efforts to provide a fun and creative way to give back to our community with their Halloween-themed Cars & Coffee for a Cause. At 8:30 am, they will welcome Special Guests, Boy Scouts Troop 1180 @ St. Anthony to Present the Colors. Kids, dress for Halloween and bring your bags. Participants, decorate your car and bring treats for the kids. The purpose of this event is to provide a morning charity car event to show off special vehicles, be a supportive partner with Market Street and the local community, share information about needful non-profit organizations in Montgomery County, and to give back monetarily as well.
