THE WOODLANDS, TX – Quote of the week: “The days are long, but the years are short.” – Gretchen Rubin

It may be a short work week – thanks to Labor Day – that feels even shorter due to our daylight hours dwindling, but it’s long on amazing events. Here’s our top 5!

Tuesday, September 6
The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce
hosts its monthly Business After Hours event, a complimentary social that provides people with opportunities to meet, mingle, and build relationships with other area business professionals. Though it's free to attend for Chamber members (only $20 for non-members), reservations are required. This month, the event is sponsored by The Woodlands Young Learners Academy.

Wednesday, September 7
ForEverWell and ForEverYoung at the Woodlands Family YMCA! Head on out to the Shadowbend Y for their Annual YMCA Senior Open House and Senior Service Vendor Fair. This event is free and open to the Community. Invite your friends and learn more about the YMCA. The Y offers a variety of opportunities for adults, ages 55 and better, to stay active, engaged and connected with others. From physical activity to social events and new adventures, ForeverWell provides opportunities for all to make this chapter in life the best one yet. Door prizes, demos, light lunch, giveaways, bingo, vendor tables, and much more.

Wednesday & Saturday, September 7 & 10
Dosey Doe - The Big Barn
has such a great lineup this week that we simply have to talk about both of them. On Wednesday, take a trip down memory lane – like a white rabbit going down a hole – as the latest iteration of Jefferson Starship plays. Fronted by the smoky-voiced Cathy Richardson, this band has songs old and new that will get you jamming. And then, come back on Sunday evening for an intimate concert being put on by The Bacon Brothers – and, yes, one of those brothers is Kevin, along with his older, EMMY-winning brother Michael. There won’t be any degrees of separation from these guys at the Barn as you enjoy dinner and the show!

Thursday - Sunday, September 8 - 11
Class Act Productions
students will take to the stage to perform Footloose: The Musical. This amazing live take on the classic movie is fun for the entire family! There are performances each evening Thursday through Saturday, and a Sunday matinee.

Sunday, September 11
Please join The Woodlands Township as they honor and thank first responders with a community-wide celebration First Responders Appreciation Day, featuring live music, speakers, Presentation of Colors, inflatables, children's arts and crafts, balloon art, face painting, food vendors, and more, taking place in conjunction with Concert in the Park.
