There are so many different events vying for attention as summer starts to wind down and the weather (hopefully) changes soon for the cooler. But while the temperatures remain hot, here are are some equally hot events to make for some really cool times.

Are you ready for any type of disaster? Then head over to the South Library on Lake Robbins for a special Disaster Readiness 101 class. Join in as Matthew from Texas A & M AgriLife Extension discusses the various types of disasters and their impact on our area in the State of Texas. Learn about what essential items are needed, when to leave, evacuation routes and pre-disaster preparation, and post-disaster evaluation. Registration required.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Arts in the Park presents The Woodlands Renaissance Faire, featuring live musical and theater performances by local artists and The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra players. Other activities include children's arts and crafts, Renaissance themed youth and adult costume contests and much more! For this free family event, coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Glass is prohibited.

returns to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with special guests Jeff Beck and Ann Wilson for their ‘Raw Whisky Tour.’ The tour's title is a hat tip to both the forthcoming album as well as the recent release of ZZ Top Tres Hombres whisky from Balcones Distilling of Waco, TX, a flavourful 100% proof mash bill of roasted blue corn, malted barley and rye.
