CONROE, TX -- The undefeated Grand Oaks Grizzlies traveled to the Conroe Tigers den to face them in the last game of the year. Conroe is tied for second place with Oak Ridge and College Park who are playing each other at the same time.

It was a tough start for the Grizzlies as Conroe would keep them scoreless for just under 4 minutes in the first quarter. Although struggling on offense, Grand Oaks would come back and tie up the game at 9 apiece. They would eventually take the lead by hitting the line and sinking their allotted free throws. They would take advantage of the Conroe turnovers which they would convert and take the lead going into the second.

In the second quarter Grand Oaks would tighten up their defense but Conroe wouldn’t let up. Conroe’s offense would heat up tying it at 22 with a massive 3 pointer. Minutes before the halftime buzzer Grand Oaks would go on a tear and increase their lead 33-25.

Raniyah Lewis with Conroe would bring the buckets in the second half, scoring 12 of the 24 points for Conroe. Grand Oaks would continue to increase their lead even though being out scored in the second half.

Conroe would resort to fouling to increase their chances to get points on the other end of the court. Grand Oaks would keep their lead in the third and fourth and chalk up another district win.

With the 56-49 win, Grand Oaks is still undefeated in the district rankings with a 7-0 winning streak. They will take a break for the New Year and continue their season Saturday, January 7th against Cleveland. Conroe will also face Cleveland but at the beginning of the week.
