HOUSTON, TX –- The M.O. Campbell Educational Center was home to the Bi-District Girls Basketball Playoff featuring Grand Oaks, who played first, and The Conroe Lady Tigers. With a nearly flawless season, the Lady Tigers entered the playoffs confident to move to the next round.

The MacArthur Lady Generals, who finished 4th in their district, faced the strong Lady Tigers in the second matchup of the night. With an already amped crowd the teams used that energy to get started right away. In the first half it was all Conroe; pressuring the shooter and aggressively attacking the basket. Led by Kennedy Powell (#11) the Lady Tigers cut through the MacArthur defense and hit the boards putting up 11-points in the first and 24-points by the half. This gave the Conroe an 8-point lead at halftime.

With a strong lead going into the second half, Conroe had to stop the MacArthur attack and score consistent baskets. Isabella Stafford (#32) used her poetic foot work and smooth ball handling to crossover and crash the boards. After a quick 3rd quarter, Conroe had a comfortable lead going into the final quarter. All they had to do was put up that brick wall defense to stop the Lady Generals from getting any good looks at the basket.

Conroe stopped the attack and kept MacArthur to only scoring 12-points in the second half. The Lady Tigers closed out the MacArthur Lady Generals 56 to 28 to move on and secure their spot in the Area Round.

Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles also played on Tuesday night at home against the Spring Lady Lions. They took full advantage of their home court and closed out Spring 49-42 to move on to the Area Round with Grand Oaks and Conroe. They are set to face Tomball Memorial on Thursday at Dekaney High School.
