The first part of the week will be cloudy capped off by some thunderstorms, while the second half will dry up under sunny skies; typical weather this week for indoor or outdoor fun, Woodlands style. Here’s our list of the top five events just for you!

Thursday, February 9
The Woodlands Children’s Museum presents Shadow Puppet Theatre
today at 11 a.m. Clifford’s First Valentine’s Day by Norman Bridwell will be shown to attendees of all ages in a unique way. Clifford treats everyone to a very special valentine on a snowy Valentine’s Day. This event is included in the price of admission, which is $8 for adults and children 1 year and older. Shadow Puppet Theatre is an introduction to storytelling elements that allows the Museum’s readers and audience to interact directly with each other, where children of all ages are enchanted with the animated shadows.

Friday, February 10
If you’re into comics, cartoons, or games at all, then The Adventure Begins is the place for you to be today with their Artist and Creator Signing Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come into the store and meet some awesome artists like Phil Salazar, artist for Transformers and Car-Toons; Edward Kraatz II, artist for The Last Ronin and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; Melanie Kohn, voice actor for Lucy of Peanuts; Matt Cole of The Glopple, and more. Don't miss this chance to meet, greet, purchase autographs and photo ops and watch live art! Artists in Arms will be joining in for a live art auction to benefit military personnel.

Friday - Sunday, February 10 - 12
Love is in the air in Market Street all weekend long. Head over there for a Valentine’s photo op in the park starring Friday all the way through next Tuesday. And on Saturday you can enjoy a Candlelight Concert in the park featuring the classical quartet Divisi Strings. The amorous fun won’t end with the weekend – there will even be a Valentine’s Day jazz concert featuring the Fahrenheit Duo next Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m.

Saturday, February 11
You might recall a few years back The Woodlands lost countless trees to Hurricane Ike. Ever since, special projects have been in place to help replace those lost forestries. Today it’s time for the 9th annual Community Tree Planting hosted by The Woodlands Township. Volunteers are invited to join the fun as we plant thousands of native trees and shrubs as part of our ongoing reforestation efforts. The year’s event will be held at the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center, 6535 Creekside Forest Drive and Dog Park from 8 a.m. to noon. Registration is required.

Sunday, February 12
Head over to The Learning Zoo today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a special Valentine;s Day celebration! Meet Snow Queen Elsa and her friendly water horse and a day of fun, including a tortoise feeding garden, reptile encounters, petting zoo, Valentine's Day card crafting, and more. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance for all guests over the age of 12 months.
