Spring Break at Woodlands Children's Museum

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Step into Spring BreaKation at The Woodlands Children’s Museum with a week full of special performances, music, science and more!

“Spring Break presents an excellent opportunity to engage in family fun,” stated Angela Colton, the museum’s Executive Director. “We have a little something for everyone this week, from fire trucks to slime, and from a bird show to leprechauns. We do our best to schedule a wide variety of performers and things to do in order to pique children’s curiosity and excitement.”

Throughout the week, children will have an opportunity to enjoy Science Palooza and experiment with new science activities from 11:00am – 2:00pm. Topics will include magnet magic (March 11), learning about light (March 13), fossils and gems (March 14), bee-hind the scenes with the Bee Lady (March 15), buoyant boats (March 16) and shamrock slime (March 17).

Each day will also feature a new artist on the museum’s performance stage.
On Monday, March 13th, families will be amazed by the talents of Sonny 'The Birdman' Carlin and his colorful feathered friends. Macaws and other exotic bird species will join Sonny on stage for three interactive performances at 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm.

On Tuesday, March 14th, we take the fun outside for The Woodlands Township Safety Day and Car Seat Safety Checks. Climb aboard a fire truck and ambulance and receive safety tips from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office from 10:00am -1:00pm. Car seat safety checks are by reservation only at https://freeseatcheck.as.me/thewoodlands and begin at 10:00am with the last reservation at 12:30pm.

The Singing Zoologist, Lucas Miller, will visit on Wednesday, March 15th, for songs and mini-lessons for budding biologists! This Austin-based performer is part of the touring roster for the Texas Commission on the Arts and inspires children with science-based multimedia shows. Four shows will be offered at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm. Also, on Wednesday, BEE amazed by a visit from The Bee Lady at 11:00am and discover facts about bees while safely meeting a few in person!

New this year, on Thursday, March 16th, the museum is excited to welcome songwriter and teaching artist Will Parker. Children and families can enjoy original songs that engage the audience in sing alongs, dancing, high-fiving and imaginative play. Performances will be offered at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm. The afternoon ushers in an energetic Irish Dancers presentation at 2:00pm by Clann Kelly to set the excitement on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day.
Leaping Leprechauns! On Friday, March 17th, help spread the luck of the Irish by wearing your favorite green attire, posing for pictures with roaming leprechauns, and enjoying a self-guided scavenger hunt as we celebrate St. Patrick's Day. A special Storybook Theatre will take place at 11:00am and 1:00pm. Be sure to check the pot of gold for a prize before you leave!

Closing out the week on Saturday, March 18th, the museum is pleased to welcome back Texas Commission on the Arts touring artist Juicebox Jukebox. Created by Dallas-based singer/songwriter and father of three Bradley Skistimas, performances feature fun, positive, educational music and videos for parents and children to enjoy. Shows will be offered on-stage at 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm.

During Spring BreaKation week, the museum will be open Monday through Friday from 10:00am – 4:00pm. On Saturday March 11 and March 18, we will be open from 10:00am – 5:00pm. The museum is closed on Sundays. All events are included in the price of admission, which is $8 for adults and children 1 year and older.
