TXDAR and Texas A&M Forest Service Celebrate New Endeavor

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution rededicated their historic DAR Forest sign now located in the W.G. Jones State Forest. TXDAR has created a partnership with the Texas A&M Forest Service to financially support the maintenance of forest habitat for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Sunday’s ceremony, led by TXDAR State Regent, Marcy Carter- Lovick and Texas A & M Forest Service Head of East Texas Operations, Jacob “Jake” Donellan acknowledged TXDAR’s historical support of conservation in Texas and celebrated this new endeavor with the Texas A & M Forest Service. Five Montgomery County DAR chapters served as hosts for this historic event: Spring Creek Chapter, The Woodlands; Joanna Troutman Chapter, Magnolia; Twin Creeks Chapter, Shenandoah; Margaret Montgomery Chapter, Conroe and Coushatti Trace Chapter, Willis.
