MAGNOLIA, TX -- Adios, brutal heat! Howdy, cooler weather!

To celebrate fall ushering in, Bourbon Brothers BBQ — Magnolia’s home for Texas barbecue and scratch-made sides and desserts — is introducing its latest creation: a pumpkin spice sausage.

“It’s got pumpkin, it’s got spice, it’s got everything nice,” said Matt Keyser, owner of Bourbon Brothers BBQ who handcrafted the sausage. “Think of it like a pumpkin spice latte stuffed into a sausage link.”

The third-pound link is filled with fresh chunks of pumpkin, a housemade pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices.

“This is a ridiculous idea, we get it,” said Lotis Butchko, executive chef at Bourbon Brothers BBQ who doubles as a pumpkin spice latte lover. “But the sausage is really good. We wanted to incorporate a menu item that encapsulates the fall season.”

The pumpkin spice sausage is available through October. It sells for $8 a link or $30 for a package of four at the Bourbon Brothers BBQ food trailer, located at 14320 FM 1488 Magnolia, TX 77354. The trailer is located behind Magnolia High School and next to The Ark Church-Magnolia.

Bourbon Brothers BBQ is open Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hours are subject to change based on food availability. Preorders for the pumpkins spice sausage and the entire Bourbon Brothers BBQ menu can be made at bourboncue.com.

Each month, Bourbon Brothers BBQ spotlights a sausage of the month that features links found exclusively at its food trailer.

Those housemade sausages include a black and bleu sausage, which is stuffed with ground brisket, housemade bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, and caramelized onions; a crawfish sausage that’s filled with everything you love about a crawfish boil: tails, corn, potatoes, and Cajun seasonings; and a holiday sausage that Keyser calls “Thanksgiving dinner” stuffed in a link, including smoked turkey, sweet potatoes, and a sweet cornbread dressing.

“Our goal is to provide unique, delicious offerings that you can’t get anywhere else,” Keyser said.
