THE WOODLANDS, TX – While Christmas Eve storms did their thing throughout the region, things cleared up nicely for a bright – if not white – Christmas Monday. The resulting shortened work week (or vacation week for many) is actually playing nice and looks like things will stay mild for the rest of 2023.

Looks like the year will won’t end with a weather bang

Our high humidity that is only now dipping down will add a degree of ‘heat index’ to our natural high temperature today of 58. The breezes have kicked up to about 5-7 mph and will hang around for a few hours, in case you wanted some cool caressing on your face as you ventured outdoors under mostly sunny skies. We’ll get down to about 41 degrees for our overnight low.

Wednesday will see pretty much nothing but blue skies and a bright sun warming things mildly up to about 63. Again, the daytime humidity will drop after an earlier surge, and moderate winds will keep a chill in the air. Things will chill significantly starting in the afternoon as the mercury plummets to a low of 36.

On Thursday, it’ll be another bright and breezy day, but this time about 10 degrees cooler and about 5 mph windier. But barely a cloud will dot the sky, and you can start winding up the week on a high note. But keep those heaters and blankets ready as we hit the mid 30s again for a low.

The last Friday of 2023 will sing huzzah in style, with another sunny day, more moderate winds, low humidity, and not a drop of rain on the horizon. While the high with get up to 58, as the night falls so will the temperatures, and we’ll get dangerously close to the freezing mark.

On Friday, we’ll put out a special New Year’s Weekend weather report and will bring live updates to keep you safe and sound as we slip into 2024…
