THE WOODLANDS, TX – For the fun, late-night parties literally and figuratively ringing in the new year on Sunday night, we have an entire Woodlands Online New Year’s Eve Guide ready for your perusal, chock full of events, dinners, and parties. For those looking for something earlier in the day before the sun sets for the last time on 2023, you can catch early sessions at The Woodlands Ice Skating Rink, or enjoy a morning New Year's Eve Brunch at Dosey Doe Breakfast, BBQ & Whiskey Bar featuring Slow Smoked Prime Rib, Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon, and Roasted Frenched Pork Chop, or catch the Mike Zito Band at Dosey Doe - The Big Barn complete with a four-course dinner. But the guide will lead you to the best places to be and go when the clock strikes midnight.

Some places to go and things to do on the first day of ‘24

It’s the next day, however, that some of us might find difficult to fill. Maybe you didn’t party too hard and woke up early; maybe you’re still partying and have yet to see your pillow. In either case, here are a few things you can do on New Year’s Day, thanks to these Woodlands area businesses being open.

What a better way to start the New Year than by partaking in New Year's Day Dog Walking at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter Adoption Program from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. No sign up required. The shelter would love to see every dog out for a walk and some fresh air this holiday. This opportunity is for registered volunteers who have attended dog walking orientation. If you still need to attend orientation, please email volunteer.coordinator@mctx.org as soon as you can.

Starting at 9:00 in the morning and going until 2:00 p.m., you can enjoy New Year’s Day Brunch at Sorriso Modern Italian Kitchen for only $47 per person.

Or you can wait an hour and then hit up a New Year's Day Brunch at Fielding's Local Kitchen & Bar. Come make the first meal of 2024 really special with a bloody mary or mimosa, chicken and waffles, and so much more. Reserve for brunch from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Dinner will start at 3 p.m. Note that they will not be serving Happy Hour on New Year’s Day; the bar will be open 3 p.m. - 5 .p.m., but the kitchen will not serve food until 5 p.m.

Over at their sister eatery, you can enjoy a full day’s worth of New Year's Day Brunch & Dinner at Fielding’s Wood Grill. They will be open their regular Sunday hours serving brunch from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., and lunch/dinner will be served from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Features include Jumbo Lump Crab Cake; Holiday Beef Short Ribs, Eggnog Crème Brûlée; Dark & White Chocolate Chip cookies.

It’s your final day to enjoy The Ice Rink at The Woodlands, which is holding skating sessions from 1:30 - 6:30 p.m. (open until 8:30). The 21,000-square-foot permanent multipurpose facility features ice skating in a main room with lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, tables for parties, and concessions.

You can eat out or fine-dine at home with New Year's Day Dine-In or To Go at Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille and their 3-Course Pork Chop Monday Supper plus New Year’s Special Sides to help bring luck and prosperity to your new year.

Holiday hours at The Woodlands Mall await your shopping adventure. Believe it or not, the mall and all (or at least most) of the stores within and without will be open 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. A lot of inventory needs to be sold by today to avoid new year’s taxes, so keep an eye out for some extra special deals!

You can enjoy some extended holiday hours at Ale & Ivy – 11a.m. - 2 a.m. (you read right – two hours after midnight). If you’re looking for a can’t-miss spot for late night food and dining for the new year, look no further. You’ll enjoy the food and ambiance that includes live music, karaoke, private event space, and delicious eats in an excellent setting that includes cocktails and various beers.

Finally, remember that you can catch a flick at any of the local cinemas around, including the Cinemark 17 and XD right next to the mall. Today they’re showing some great movies, including a special one-time-only revival of the expanded edition of The Lord of the Rings.

Wherever you go and whatever you do this New Year’s long weekend, we at Woodlands Online encourage you to party responsibly and make it into the first work week of January safe and sound.
