The Woodlands Nonprofit All Ears! Center Receives $200,000 Grant from Chick-fil-A.
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- All Ears! Center, a Woodlands-area nonprofit, has been named the recipient of a $200,000 grant through the annual Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® program. This grant will help further All Ears! Center’s efforts in the community as it serves a growing population of babies and toddlers who have hearing loss. With this award, All Ears! Center plans to launch “Learn to LSL,” a program dedicated to guiding and coaching parents of babies and toddlers with hearing loss, who have chosen a spoken language outcome for their child. All Ears! Center is the only LSL Center in Montgomery County and the greater Houston area, who partners with a mainstream preschool for full inclusion instruction alongside typical hearing children.
The center’s mission is to provide a family focused service, with the goal of preparing children who have hearing loss for mainstream education alongside their hearing peers. The earlier the child receives hearing technology and enrolls in a LSL program, the better a child’s chances are for an optimal spoken language outcome, improved literacy, mainstream education and lifelong independence. All Ears! strives to serve all children regardless of a family’s financial resources.
“Today, thanks to newborn hearing screenings, advanced hearing technology and enrollment in a family-focused LSL program like All Ears!, babies can learn to listen and speak and enter mainstream education alongside their typically hearing friends,” said Lee Rech, Executive Director of the non-profit. “Providing this option to children and their families who choose it is our goal. Nearly 50% of our children need financial assistance so this grant will help these families access the specialized services their child needs. We can’t thank Chick-fil-A and Kendrick Skipper, Owner/Operator and his Alden Bridge and Magnolia Team enough for their generosity and life-changing impact they’re making in our community,” continued Rech.
All Ears! Center is one of 51 True Inspiration Awards grant recipients in 2024 that are receiving a collective $5.48 million from Chick-fil-A, Inc. To be selected for a grant, organizations must work to address key issues that align with Chick-fil-A's corporate social responsibility priorities: Caring for People, Caring for Others through Food, Caring for our Communities and Caring for our Planet.
The True Inspiration Awards were established in 2015 to carry on Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy’s legacy of generosity and community service. Since that time, more than 300 grants, ranging from $30,000 to $350,000, have been distributed to organizations located across the North America, including Puerto Rico and Canada.
“Across the communities Chick-fil-A serves, we strive to have a positive impact, and we are honored to support local nonprofits that are truly making a difference in their neighborhoods,” said Brent Fielder, senior director of corporate social responsibility for Chick-fil-A, Inc. “This year's True Inspiration Awards grant recipients are doing incredible work in their local communities - from feeding those in need to providing resources for military families to supporting the development of students and more. Chick-fil-A is thrilled to help further the impact of these nonprofits through our largest number of True Inspiration Awards to date."
