The EDP hosts Partner Luncheon featuring Lone Star College System Chancellor Mario K. Castillo

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership (EDP) held a Partner Luncheon at The Woodlands Resort on Thursday, January 18, 2024. The Partner Luncheon was sponsored by The Blair Law Firm, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Capital, Winstead PC and The Woodlands Township. EDP Chairman, Jim Parisi with St. Luke’s Health emceed the luncheon which featured Lone Star College System Chancellor Mario K. Castillo.

Chancellor Castillo provided the group of community leaders with an overview on Lone Star College System’s (LSCS) several campuses and centers, extensive educational programs, and their growing student population which currently exceeds enrollment of 80,000 each semester. He also shared perspectives on strategic goals he oversees as the fifth chancellor and the first Hispanic chancellor to serve LSCS. Castillo has served LSCS since 2015 as vice chancellor, general counsel, and chief operating officer.

Gil Staley, CEO of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership said, "The educational and economic value that Lone Star College affords our community is critical to creating a skilled workforce that can meet the demands of our current and future business partners.
